Description: Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. and its subsidiaries provide Internet Protocol (IP) based digital satellite communication and networking products and services worldwide. It designs, produces, and markets very small aperture terminals (VSATs) and related VSAT network equipment. VSATs are earth based terminals that transmit and receive broadband, Internet, voice, data, and video via satellite. The company operates through three divisions: Commercial, Defense, and Services. The Commercial division provides VSAT networks, satellite communication products, and associated professional services to service providers and operators, including consumer Ka-band initiatives; and industry specific solutions for cellular backhaul, business continuity, and disaster recovery. The Defense division offers satellite communication products and solutions to defense and homeland security organizations; Satcom-on-the-move solutions to various industries, including avionics; and SSPAs and block up converters for mission-critical satellite communications. This division also offers various product solutions for various applications targeting defense, commercial, and broadcast satellite communications systems. The Service division provides managed network services for business, government, and residential customers in North America, as well as rural telephony, Internet access, and data solutions for rural areas under projects that are subsidized by governmental entities, public institutions, and the private sector. This division also serves enterprise, government, industrial small office/home office, and residential customers. The company was founded in 1987 and is headquartered in Petah Tikva, Israel.
