Description: Borregaard ASA develops, produces, and markets biomaterials, biochemicals, and biofuels in Norway, rest of Europe, Asia, America, and internationally. It operates through three segments: Performance Chemicals, Specialty Cellulose, and Other Businesses. The Performance Chemicals segment provides lignin-based binding and dispersing agents for use in a range of end market applications, such as construction, industrial binders, agrochemicals, and batteries, as well as trades in chemicals related to lignin-based products. The Specialty Cellulose segment offers specialty cellulose primarily for use as a raw material in the production of cellulose ethers, cellulose acetate, and other specialty products; second generation bioethanol. The Other Businesses segment supplies wood-based vanillin products to flavor and fragrance, and food and beverage companies; fine chemicals to the pharmaceutical industry; intermediates for non-ionic X-ray contrast media; and cellulose fibrils consists of Exilva microfibrillar cellulose for use in industrial applications and SenseFi texture systems for food products. Borregaard ASA was incorporated in 2012 and is headquartered in Sarpsborg, Norway.
