Description: The Connecticut Light and Power Company (CL&P), a regulated electric utility that serves residential, commercial and industrial customers in parts of Connecticut. CL&P's distribution business consists of the purchase, delivery and sale of electricity to its residential, commercial and industrial customers. As of December 31, 2011, CL&P furnished retail franchise electric service to approximately 1.2 million customers in 149 cities and towns in Connecticut. During the fiscal year ended December 31, 2011, CL&P continued to develop and construct the New England East-West Solution (NEEWS) project, which is consists of Greater Springfield Reliability Project (GSRP), the Interstate Reliability Project and the Central Connecticut Reliability Project. On May 31, 2011, CL&P completed the sale to CTMEEC of a segment of high voltage transmission lines built by the Company in the town of Wallingford, Connecticut. CL&P is a wholly owned subsidiary of Northeast Utilities (NU).
