The company's Sempra South American Utilities segment operates electric transmission and distribution utilities in Chile and Peru. Its Sempra Mexico segment owns and operates distribution and transmission natural gas pipelines, and a propane system; a natural gas-fired power plant; and a terminal for the import and export of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and natural gas. The company's Sempra Renewables segment develops, owns, and operates, as well as holds interests in wind and solar energy projects in Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Indiana, Kansas, Nevada, and Pennsylvania to serve wholesale electricity markets in the United States. Its Sempra Natural Gas segment develops, owns, and operates, as well as holds interests in natural gas generation facilities, natural gas pipelines and storage facilities, natural gas distribution utilities, and terminal that import and export of LNG, as well as sale of natural gas in the United States. The company was founded in 1998 and is headquartered in San Diego, California.
