Description: Securities Trust of Scotland plc is a closed-end investment trust. The investment objective of the Company is to achieve rising income and long-term capital growth through investment in a balanced portfolio constructed from global equities. The Company invests predominantly in global equities. The majority of the portfolio is invested in large capitalization companies and companies with market capitalizations. The Company invests approximately 15% of its gross assets in limited investment companies (including the United Kingdom listed investment trusts). It invests over 10% of the total portfolio in collective investment schemes, of which no holding can exceed 10% of the value of the collective investment scheme. Its investment portfolio includes financials, industrials, consumer goods, healthcare, consumer services, telecommunications, oil and gas, utilities, basic materials and technology. The Company's investment manager is Martin Currie Investment Management Limited.
