As of December 31, 2017, this segment operated 2,032 stores, including 59 SM stores, 52 SM supermarkets, 181 SaveMore stores, 47 SM hypermarkets, 46 WalterMart stores, and 348 Alfamart stores, as well as 1,299 specialty stores. The company's Financial Services and Others segment engages in asset management and capital investments, as well as provision of financial services. It provides lending products and services, including lending; deposit-taking; foreign exchange; brokering; trust and investments; credit cards; corporate cash management and remittances; leasing and financing; life insurance; and insurance and stock brokerage services, as well as investment, private, and rural banking services. This segment operates approximately a network of 1,100 branches and 4,000 ATMs. This segment is also involved in the copper and nickel exploration and mining activities. SM Investments Corporation was incorporated in 1960 and is based in Pasay City, the Philippines.
